Flush out RNC dissidents from Uganda ,Mbidde tells government in Netherlands Convention.

DIPLOMACY. The East African Legislative Assembly Commissioner representing the Republic of Uganda Hon Fred Denis Mukasa Mbidde has catechized government to Flush out Rwanda National Congress (RNC) dissidents from Uganda if the two countries are to have enduring peace.
Hon. Mukasa Mbidde made the assertion during the official stoppage of the 2019 Uganda Netherlands Business Convention (UNBC) in Amsterdam where he edified on Bilateral diplomacy and good neighborliness as a key component for implementation of free movement under the Common market protocol with a Case Study of Uganda /Rwanda .

Relations between the countries had been strained since February over economic and political disagreements. At the end of February, Rwanda started blocking Ugandan cargo trucks from entering at Katuna, the busiest crossing on the two Nations’ border. Authorities in Kigali also started stopping the country’s Nationals from travelling to Uganda.
Kigali accused Kampala of supporting rebel groups opposed to President Paul Kagame’s government, including the Rwanda National Congress (RNC) and the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR). Kampala in turn accused Rwanda of effectively imposing a trade embargo on Uganda. This intrigue has to be curtailed for any renewed cooperation to take shape

Despite that, Hon. Mukasa Mbidde who also facsimiles as a committee member on the Legal, rules and Privileges committee at the EAC and the Regional Affairs and conflict resolution committee accentuated the significance of partner states relating to each other with protocols and guiding principles.
The UNBC platform remains fundamental at bringing together the Ugandan population living in the the BENELUX, Investors, Traders Entrepreneurs, Educationists and all interested stakeholders to Integrate, forge useful partnerships, discuss issues geared at strengthening and introducing Business and Investment links between Uganda and the Netherlands.
The 2019 edition of the UNBC was under the theme “The untapped Investment opportunities” within Uganda’s Agriculture and Health Sectors. Amidst the entrants were Ugandans in Europe, Ambassadors, the business community, Members of Parliament from Uganda, The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Rebecca Kadaga amongst others.
